Read the story and answer the questions that follow”

There was an old house on the top of a hill. An old man lived there. He had long, white hair and beard. He was very tall. He lived alone but his companions were a dog, a horse and a cow.

Every morning the old man woke up very early and took a bath in a river. After bath, he would ride the horse to the valley where he cultivated rice and vegetables. While he worked in the fields, his horse would feed on the grass and leaves.

One morning the old man was very ill. He could neither open his eyes nor stand up. He thought that he was going to die. He tried to call the dog that lay in his room but he had no voice. He tried to call the horse but he had no voice. He tried to call the cow but the cow was far away in its shed.

Finally the old man smiled and said, “God! Spare my life if I am more important than the dog, the horse and the cow.”

Suddenly he was able to see and hear sounds. He tried to stand up and was able to stand up. He walked out and saw the dog dead at the door, the horse dying in its stable, and the cow asleep.
